2022 MASERATI GRECALE

By Tshidi Malebana

The all-new Maserati Grecale is an SUV to look at with its striking design and high performance. It stands out in the competitive segment and it brings a wide range of offerings as it is available in 3 ranges, namely: GT, Modena and Trofeo. The front features a low and imposing grille, visual forms and its technical components highlighted by the use of carbon fibre. In the rear, the boomerang taillights are inspired by the Giugiaro 3200 GT and fit in with the trapezoidal line. No details have been left behind in the creation of Grecale.

The GT has a wheelbase of 2,901 mm and is 4,846 mm long, a height of 1,670 mm, a width of 2,163 mm (including wing mirrors), with a rear-wheel track of 1,948 mm which is greater than the Trofeo.

Inside, it's the large 12.3” central touchscreen infotainment system and another 8.8” for extra controls and for passengers in the rear seats, an all-round sound experience for you to kick back and pump your favourite tunes with the Sonus Faber system as standard at Premium level includes 14 speakers, or 21 speakers on-demand at High Premium level. The traditional Maserati clockface. Operated by touch or voice it includes everything you need for a safe and comfortable drive. There is enough space for passengers, nothing is compromised.

The GT and Modena are powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine four-cylinder mild-hybrid engine capable of delivering 300hp and 330 hp, while the powerful Trofeo is powered by a 3.0L V6 engine based on the Nettuno engine fitted to the MC20. Every trip is as comfortable as possible with the 8-speed auto transmission ensuring a smooth, comfortable drive on both your daily commute and your highway road trips. Claimed to do 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 285 km/h. Drivers get complete control with various drive modes such as comfort, Sport, GT, Corsa (Trofeo only) and off-road.

Completing the range with a 100% electric Folgore version which will be introduced later this year.

The pricing for the Maserati Grecale has not been announced yet in South Africa.
