All-New 2026 Audi Q5 and SQ5 Launched in South Africa
Bold New Look: S Line Styling Across the Board
The third-generation Audi Q5 SUV and second-generation Q5 Sportback showcase a more athletic silhouette. An elevated Singleframe front grille, functional air curtains, and an integrated rear light strip spanning the width of the tailgate define the new appearance.
For the South African market, every model in the lineup comes standard in S line specification. This adds sportier exterior accents and standard 20-inch alloy wheel designs. Upgrading to the S line Black or SQ5 Black packages introduces black roof rails, black mirror caps, privacy glass, dark chrome tailpipe trims, and up to 21-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels.
Interior and Digital Architecture
Inside, the cabin features Audi’s latest Digital Stage layout:
- 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus: Placed directly in front of the driver for primary vehicle and instrument data.
- 14.5-inch Curved MMI Touch Display: Controls central infotainment functions with reduced physical button clutter.
- Optional 10.9-inch Passenger Display: Features Active Privacy Mode, allowing the front passenger to view navigation or media without distracting the driver.
Standard interior features include electrically adjustable sport seats, three-zone automatic climate control, surround-view cameras, wireless smartphone charging, and connected services. Boot capacity is rated at up to 520 litres for the SUV and 515 litres for the Sportback.
Engine Options and Powertrains
Three engine options are available in South Africa, paired with a 7-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive:
- 2.0 TDI (Diesel): 150 kW / 400 Nm (available in Sportback).
- 2.0 TFSI (Petrol): 200 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
- 3.0 V6 TFSI (SQ5): 270 kW / 550 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
