Audi A3 Sedan Revealed
Audi has revealed the A3 Sedan which offers more interior space, high tech and a 48-volt mild hybrid system among some of the new features.

You ever feel like an Audi A4 is too big and you desire something more compact? How about an Audi A1? Too small? How about an Audi A3 hatchback? Wait, just doesn’t have the boot space right? Surely then an extra 45L of boot space could do the trick, well the Audi A3 sedan needs no introduction. Compared to the predecessor, this 2nd generation Audi A3 sedan is now 4 centimetres longer, 2 centimetres wider, and 1 centimetre taller, resulting in more interior space while retaining the same wheelbase. We’ll be seeing a totally revised interior offering two 10-inch screens(even in the base model) and a centre console with a shorter gear lever. Of course its the year 2020, and yes this is an Audi, so we’d expect nothing less than the latest tech. Think Apple Car Play or Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, Touchscreen interface? Check.

And while you’re at it, think of the drivetrain tech as well, two engines will be offered at launch, one being the 35 TFSI using a 1.5L 110kw motor along with a 48v mild hybrid system mated to the S Tronic dual clutch transmission. This hybrid system offers the car an extra 50nm of torque on occasion. The other is a 2.0L TDI 110kw motor mated to a new S Tronic transmission with “shift-by-wire” technology. Consumption figure claims for both engines are impressive but those are still to be confirmed in the real world. Audi South Africa has however confirmed we’ll be spotting these in the second quarter of 2021.
