Discover the All-New 2024 BMW X3: Features, Performance, and Luxury Redefined

Exterior Design

The new BMW X3 has a fresh look that’s sporty and sleek. It’s a bit bigger than before, being 34mm longer, 29mm wider, and 25mm lower, giving it a strong and athletic presence. The front features a large kidney grille with new vertical and diagonal bars and optional glowing lights around the grille. The LED headlights now have L-shaped light sources.

The car’s sides have bold skirts, and the roofline stretches to the rear, adding to its sporty feel. At the back, the wheel arches are wide, and the rear window has a long spoiler, giving it a modern and wide appearance. Most models hide the exhaust pipes, and the rear lights have a fresh, T-shaped design.

The X3 offers nine paint colors, including a new Dune Grey. You can also choose special finishes from BMW Individual, with options like matte Frozen colors. Standard wheels are 19 inches for the 20d and 30e xDrive models and 20 inches for the M50 xDrive. There are also 20- and 21-inch wheels available, and the M Sport package adds 19-inch M light-alloy wheels and improved aerodynamic features.

Interior Design

Inside, the X3 combines practicality with luxury. The dashboard features the BMW Curved Display and Interaction Bar, along with flat-bottomed steering wheels and a new gear selector. The center console and door trims have light elements in contrasting colors. The cabin is spacious, offering up to 1,700 liters of cargo space (460–1,600 liters for the X3 30e xDrive). You can also opt for an electric trailer hitch that tows up to 2,500 kg.

The X3 comes with heated, electrically adjustable sport seats made from Econeer, a sustainable material. You can upgrade to Veganza or BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery, with Veganza being available at no extra cost. A new luxury instrument panel made from recycled polyester is also an option.

Performance and Efficiency

The X3 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid combines a 2.0-liter petrol engine with an electric motor, offering an electric range of 81–90 km. It supports 11 kW AC charging. The top model, X3 M50 xDrive, features a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, delivering 293 kW and reaching 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. The 20d xDrive model has a 2.0-liter diesel engine with 145 kW, accelerating to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds.

All X3 models have enhanced agility, stability, and comfort. The M Sport package includes sport steering and brakes, while adaptive suspension improves both handling and ride comfort. Standard driving aids include collision warning, lane departure warning, and speed limit information. Optional advanced systems include cruise control with a stop-and-go function and Parking Assistant Professional.

The new X3 features three-zone climate control, acoustic glazing, Comfort Access, and an array of digital services with BMW Operating System 9. The BMW Live Cockpit Professional and optional BMW Digital Premium package offer advanced navigation, customizable modes, and lighting effects. Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ is standard. The BMW ID and My BMW App provide personalized experiences, and the BMW Digital Key Plus offers secure vehicle access.

The new BMW X3 combines sporty design, premium features, and advanced technology. Its stylish exterior, spacious and luxurious interior, powerful performance options, and cutting-edge digital systems make it a top choice in its class.

South African market launch will get underway in the fourth quarter of 2024.
