Formula E heading to Cape Town

By Joseph Mashele

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, for the first time ever in February 2023.

On the Season Nine programme, The Mother City in South Africa is one of three brand-new cities. Following today's (19 October) FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting, where the new Season Nine calendar was approved, the all-electric single-seater will make its debut in South Africa.

With the addition of Cape Town as round five on the schedule on February 25, Formula E will officially qualify as a World Championship by travelling to 12 major cities across four continents over an unprecedented 17-round season.
