Kia Motors - Big winners at the World Car Awards
and the 2020 Car of the Year is..
The 3.0l V6 which produces a whooping 217 KW from the South Korean manufacturer KIA Motors won ahead of the Mazda CX-30 and the Mazda 3. The awards are judged by 86 Motoring Journalists from 24 countries and South Africa is represented by Charleen Clarke and Hannes Oosthuizen.

The awards took place digitally because of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Kia also walked away with the World Urban Car for its Soul EV which won ahead of the MINI Cooper SE Electric and the Volkswagen T-Cross (a bit disappointed that the T-Cross did not win following its win at the South African Car awards as well as the impact it has had on our markets)
Mazda managed to walk away with the World Car Design of the Year award beating the Peugeot 208 and Porsche Taycan. The Mazda 3 looks really beautiful and deserves the award in my humble opinion.
The World Performance Car of the Year & the World Luxury Car went to the Porsche Taycan which beat its brother the Porsche 911 in the Luxury and Performance category as well as the Porsche 718 in the Performance category.
