In the first month of our long-term journey with the Ford Everest Platinum V6, it became abundantly clear that this 7-seater SUV is more than just a means of transportation; it's a statement of luxury and capability. From the moment it arrived, the Everest Platinum exuded confidence with its commanding road presence and striking design, courtesy of its 21-inch wheels and premium finishes.

Under the hood, the punchy V6 turbo diesel engine roared to life, offering a formidable 184 kW/600 Nm of torque, perfectly complemented by the seamless 10-speed automatic gearbox. Whether navigating city streets or venturing off-road, the Everest Platinum proved its mettle, effortlessly gliding over various terrains while maintaining exceptional performance and stability.

Inside, the Everest Platinum greeted us with a spacious and luxurious cabin, complete with high-quality materials and ambient lighting that set the mood for every journey. The 12-inch infotainment screen, equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, served as our technological command center, keeping us connected and entertained throughout our travels.

We were thoroughly impressed with the B&O sound system in the Everest Platinum. It delivers an immersive audio experience that elevates our road trips to new heights. The digital driver's display, with its detailed map display feature, provided invaluable navigation assistance, ensuring we never missed a turn.

However, it's not all smooth sailing for the Everest Platinum. Despite Ford's claim of 8.5l/100km fuel consumption, we found ourselves averaging around 11.5l/100km during our urban adventures. Though this figure slightly improved to 10.2 litres/100km in subsequent weeks, the discrepancy remains a point of contention.

Nevertheless, with a 76-litre tank offering a range of 730km on a full tank, the Everest Platinum proved to be a capable road trip companion, effortlessly accommodating our family adventures and daily errands alike. Features such as forward collision assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot monitoring provided an additional layer of safety and convenience, further enhancing our driving experience.

In summary, the Ford Everest Platinum V6 impressed us with its blend of luxury, power, and versatility during the first month of our review period. As we eagerly embark on the next leg of our journey, we anticipate uncovering even more facets of this flagship SUV's capabilities.
