Porsche is marking the 50th anniversary of its iconic 911 Turbo with the launch of a special, limited-edition model, the 911 Turbo 50 Years. This exclusive release blends high-performance engineering with top-quality materials and unique design elements, paying homage to the rich history of the 911 Turbo while incorporating modern touches.

Nods to the Past, with a Modern Twist:
The 911 Turbo 50 Years draws inspiration from historic 911 Turbo models, featuring timeless yet contemporary design elements. For those looking to elevate the classic feel, Porsche offers an optional Heritage Design Package. The model is limited to just 1,974 units, a number chosen to reflect the year the first 911 Turbo debuted.

Introduced in 1974, the Type 930 Porsche 911 Turbo revolutionized the sports car world by bringing turbo technology from the racetrack to the streets. The 911 Turbo 50 Years, based on the 2019 911 Turbo S, honors this legacy with a fresh interpretation. The side vinyl graphics pay tribute to the iconic livery of the 911 RSR Turbo from the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show, which paved the way for the original 911 Turbo. The anniversary model debuts a new color, Turbonite, featured on various details including the rear engine cover, fuel tank cap, and Porsche crest.

Interior: A Tribute to the 1970s:
Inside, the 911 Turbo 50 Years continues to celebrate its heritage with design elements inspired by the original Turbo models. The classic McKenzie tartan pattern adorns the seat covers and door panels, while accents in Turbonite add a distinctive touch. Special touches include illuminated Turbo 50 logos on the door kick plates, a unique anniversary plaque above the glove compartment, and an analogue Porsche Design Subsecond clock on the dashboard.

Heritage Design Package: A Deeper Dive into History:
For those who want to immerse themselves even further in the 911 Turbo’s legacy, the optional 50 Years of Turbo Heritage Design Package adds even more historically inspired details. Available in Aventurine Green Metallic or other custom colors, this package includes exclusive design features like a decorative graphic in satin-finished white, a historic Porsche crest, and additional tartan elements in the interior. The package also offers a Sport Classic wheel design and a gold Turbo 50 logo on the rear.

Performance and Engineering Excellence:
Under the hood, the 911 Turbo 50 Years boasts the same power as the 911 Turbo S, featuring a 3.7-litre twin-turbo boxer engine that delivers 478 kW (650 PS) and 800 Nm of torque. This translates to a 0-100 km/h time of just 2.7 seconds and a 0-200 km/h time of 8.9 seconds. The car also comes equipped with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, all-wheel drive, and a sports exhaust system, ensuring that it performs as impressively as it looks.

A Timeless Timepiece:
In addition to the car, Porsche Design Timepieces is releasing a special 911 Turbo 50 Years chronograph, limited to 1,974 units. This watch, featuring a black dial with Turbonite elements, is a perfect companion to the anniversary model. Each timepiece is numbered to match the car, and a version with the Heritage Design Package is also available.

Deliveries of the 911 Turbo 50 Years will begin in autumn 2024, but fans can already catch a glimpse of this unique model at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen as part of the "Beyond Performance – 50 Years of Porsche Turbo" exhibition.
