The Suzuki S-Presso is a recently released small hatchback. A budget vehicle designed with fuel efficiency in mind, it's perfect for those looking for an affordable vehicle that doesn't compromise on fuel economy. We were fortunate enough to get to spend 2 months with this pocket saver and this is what we think.

Exterior design:

The appearance is almost the same as its predecessor. Some bumper decorations as well as the removal of plastic door sills and alloy wheels and an updated interior with more tech. We feel fond of the modern design of the Suzuki S-Presso with a distinctive front grille and sharp headlights. The car has a sporty look and but is not sporty at all rather the best everyday city driving vehicle. Accentuated by the angular lines on the sides and rear our test unit was coated in a beautiful metallic silky silver.

Interior design:

The interior space of the Suzuki S-Presso is so large that you wouldn't expect it to be a light car. Living with the S-Presso was a joyous experience as the seats were comfortable and supportive, with plenty of head and legroom for even taller passengers. The dashboard is clearly laid out and the controls are intuitive and easy to use. The car is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can easily connect your smartphone and access your favourite apps. Despite its affordable price, the Suzuki S-Presso packs a lot of features and is great value for money. Some of the features are:

  • Touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Reverse camera
  • Electric windows and mirrors
  • Air conditioner
  • 6-speaker sound system

Driving experience:

The Suzuki Espresso was a joy to drive. The gear changes were always seamless and required little to no effort to get it in gear. The S-Presso is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine that produces 49 kW and 89 Nm of torque. This may not seem like a big deal, but the car is surprisingly lively and keeps up with traffic with ease. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual or an auto transmission that allows for smooth and efficient gear changes. It is also very light weighing in at less than 800 kg, so it accelerates quickly and manoeuvres easily in tight spaces. Unfortunately, the steering is very light which can make it unpredictable at times and the column itself is not adjustable at all.

Fuel efficiency:

One of the Suzuki S-Presso distinguishing features is its fuel efficiency. We praised this car for its efficiency as we have never experienced such a pocket saver. The car boasts incredible fuel efficiency and during our 2 months stay we managed to average a mind-blowing 4,2 L/100 km making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in its class. This makes it ideal for those looking to save on rising fuel costs.

Conclusion:

The Suzuki S-Presso is value for money and is truly a bargain car. Affordable, fuel-efficient and packed with all the important safety features, it's a great choice for those looking for an affordable car that doesn't compromise on quality. The car also comes with a

2-year / 30 000 km service plan and all variants of the S-Presso include a promotional 5-year / 200 000 Km warranty giving buyers great peace of mind.

Overall, the Suzuki S-Presso is an impressive car for its weight. It's fuel efficient, practical, and has everything you need, making it a great value for money. It may not be the most powerful car on the road or the most attractive, but it more than makes up for in fuel economy and practicality. If you're looking for an affordable car that doesn't compromise on quality, the Suzuki S-Presso is definitely worth considering.
