The Face-lifted BMW 5 Series.

New BMW 5 Series
Extra width and height have been added to the kidney grille, thus dropping further down into the front apron and is framed by a single-piece surround.

BMW has revealed its latest 5 series and in my opinion, it looks breath-taking. Now looking even sportier and technologically advanced, BMW says that this new 5 series paves the way for the most tradition-rich model range in the BMW line-up because of its technological innovations onboard.

That infamous kidney grille that has every BMW fanatic pulling their hair out or scratching their bald spot? well I suggest we start embracing it, BMW has refreshed the kidney grille, adding extra width and height thus dropping further down into the front apron and is framed by a single-piece surround. The headlights have also been given slimmer contouring lines, giving them a modern twist familiar from BMW’s past and present. Two U- or optionally L-shaped daytime driving light sources arranged next to one another create a precise and modern light graphic.

The new full-LED headlights include an adaptive cornering function, BMW Selective Beam non-dazzling high beam with matrix technology is available as an option while the BMW Laserlight is now optionally available for all variants of the BMW 5 Series. In both optional headlight variants, the outer daytime driving lights also perform the role of turn indicators.

Regardless of the equipment line and engine specified, all models of the new BMW 5 Series will come with trapezoidal tailpipe finishers.

New exterior colors and BMW Individual Air Performance Wheels also make a debut and customers can now choose to have the brake calipers with M logo painted in blue or red.

  • Phytonic Blue metallic
  • Bernina Grey Amber effect
  • Aventurine Red metallic
  • Tanzanite Blue metallic
  • Alvit Grey metallic

In the interior, there is now a standard 10.25-inch Control Display and you can also get it with an optional 12.3-inch. There are also newly designed controls on the center console, a standard sports leather steering wheel with newly arranged multifunction buttons that headline an interior brimming with detailed refinements. The BMW 5. series also boasts the latest BMW iDrive 7, whilst the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with extended functionality is also now available in the new BMW 5 Series as a standard feature. The standard Smartphone Integration function is now compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Remote Software Upgrade is another new feature that enables improved vehicle functions and additional digital services to be imported into the car over the air.

The driver assistance systems available for the new BMW 5 Series serve to both enhance driving comfort on long journeys and increase safety in situations where the driver does not have a clear view.
