A vehicle more common in the States and Australia has finally hit our shores.
The new Hyundai Palisade debuts as the brand's flagship model and SUV. Unlike the other markets, it will be available here in Mzansi in a Turbo-diesel engine option only.
It is no shock that the type of car will be in the more commonly loved segment which is the SUV segment, Hyundai deemed it fit to send another unit to come and cause more unrest to its competition and judging by its impact it's sure to be soon a fan favourite
The car is a 7-seater which obviously must mean it needs to be large and wide to fit its description. It measures 49800mm in overall length with its wheelbase coming in at 2900mm, height at 1750mm and width at 1976mm.
Seating will be offered at 7 or 8 seaters and regardless of the extra seats the boot space is still more than capable of handling a fair load as it swallows 509-litres with all of the 3 rows up in place. The Hyundai Palisade will be offered in Elite spec and will come standard with the following:

Engine and Transmission
The heart of the mighty Palisade is Hyundai's favourite single power unit which is the familiar 2.2litre Turbo-diesel tuned to produce 142kw/440nm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that is selected by a press of a button which Hyundai call "Fly by motion" technology. Drive/power will be sent to all four wheels, Hyundai claims the Palisade will get from 0-100km/h in 10.5 seconds and a top speed of 190km/h.
Pricing
The Hyundai Palisade will be available as standard with a seven-year/200 000 km warranty as well as a seven-year/105 000 km service plan, the Palisade comes in a choice of five colours; White Cream, Graphite Grey, Shimmering Silver, Moonlight Blue and Abyss Black Pearl with both models carrying a sticker price of R999 900.
