Sensual Purity, Intelligence, Emotion:

The GLC is instantly recognizable as part of the Mercedes-Benz SUV family. The avant-garde exterior comes standard with chrome window surrounds and chrome replica under guards. This adds a distinctive design feature and enhances the vehicle's unique proportions.

One of the GLC's defining design highlights is the redesigned front section, where the headlights are mounted directly on the radiator grille to accentuate the vehicle's width, and as part of his standard AVANTGARDE exterior, the new A radiator grill was added. Sporty slats in matte gray with chrome trim strips. The radiator grille of the AMG line adopts the pattern of Mercedes-Benz.

Gorden Wagner, chief of his design at Mercedes-Benz AG, said: With its beauty and extraordinary talent, we have succeeded in creating the modern luxury characteristic of Mercedes-Benz. "

The body design features a full span surface design with precisely sculpted side edges. These accentuate the proportions, accentuate the powerful wheel arches and create a balance between elegance and off-road performance. For the first time in the AMG line or above, the wheel arch liner is set in the same color as the body. As special equipment in combination with mixed tyres, they emphasize the sportiness of the AMG line. Optional easy-entry running boards and night packages for the AMG line and above are also available. The sporty and confident look is further characterized by the wide tread and 18-20 inch flush wheels. Some of the wheels available from the factory are not only offered in modern designs with high-gloss surfaces and two-tone surfaces, but are also aerodynamically optimized. New two-piece taillights complement the sculpted interior and accentuate the width of the rear. The under guard, which is also reproduced in chrome, surrounds the tail pipe reproduced in chrome.

Interior: Modern, sporty luxury
Welcome to the modern and sporty luxury of Mercedes-Benz:
This is demonstrated by the interior of the new GLC with the AVANTGARDE line, even as standard equipment. The dashboard is clearly structured.
The top has a wing-like profile with a new flat circular nozzle reminiscent of airplane engine nacelles. The lower area has a generous trim area to match the curved center console.

His 12.3-inch (31.2 cm) high-definition LCD screen in front of the driver appears to float freely in front of the wing profile and trim areas. The 11.9-inch (30.2 cm) center display rises seamlessly from the center console and appears to float above the trim area. Similar to the dashboard, the screen surface is slightly slanted towards the driver.

A modern, greatly reduced design of the door panels surrounds the instrument panel at each end. The door center panel with integrated armrests unfolds from vertical to horizontal. Based on the design of the center console, the front section is designed as a metal high-tech element. It can be used as a grab or close handle and houses the power window controls. Another highlight is the floating control center with integrated controls for the door openers and seat adjustments.

The new GLC's avant-garde seat design plays with layers and contoured surfaces to give it a visual lightness. The headrest and connection to the backrest using the included cover have been redesigned. The new GLC has a leather-covered instrument panel and a Nappa-look beltline (optional, standard on the AMG line).

Some trim elements have innovative surfaces. These include open pore veneers in a newly interpreted brown hue and open pore black wood veneers with fine contoured inlays in genuine aluminium.

Dimensional concepts and practical details: Ease of use in everyday life
The essential dimensions of the new GLC emphasize the SUV's even more dynamic and powerful appearance. At 4,716mm in length, it is 60mm longer and 4mm lower than its predecessor. The track width is 6 mm at the front (currently 1,627 mm) and 23 mm at the rear (currently:
1,640 mm). Longer vehicles benefit from wheelbase and front and rear overhangs. The width of the car is 1,890mm as before.

Boot capacity has increased significantly to 620 liters (+70 liters compared to the previous model) thanks to a larger rear overhang. This is as evident in everyday driving as it is in family vacation trips and everyday mobility requirements. The GLC comes standard with an EASY-PACK tailgate. It conveniently opens and closes at the touch of a button.
Via the button on the ignition key, the switch on the driver's door, or the release handle on the tailgate. improved aerodynamics

In its most aerodynamic configuration, the GLC has a minimum drag coefficient of Cw = 0.29. This is a 200-fold improvement over its predecessor (Cd = 0.31), a huge step forward for a conventional SUV.

The vehicle was optimized in terms of air resistance and wind noise using large-scale digital flow simulations (CFD – Computational Fluid Dynamics) and real-world testing in an aeroacoustic wind tunnel. The new GLC is a pleasantly quiet vehicle with an excellent sound signature and low rolling and wind noise. This is achieved through acoustic optimization of the bodyshell and sophisticated soundproofing. For example, the windshield acoustic membrane is part of the standard equipment. Acoustically effective insulating glass, optionally available, meets even higher comfort requirements.

Comfort Appointment: Improved many details
Cross-functional ENERGIZING networks various comfort systems to enable a more effective driving experience. The optional ENERGIZING Package Plus brings them to life with the push of a button or voice command and bundles them into a world of experiences with up to 7 comfort programs. At the same time, the system creates the right atmosphere in your interior. Feel refreshed when you're tired or relax when your stress level is high.

The AIR-BALANCE package is also part of his ENERGIZING Package Plus. It provides a unique and subtle scent experience in your interior according to your personal taste and mood. It also contributes to improved air quality and health benefits thanks to its refreshing ionization and filtration of outside and inside air.

The optional ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL intelligently monitors the air quality inside the car. To do this, we use air quality and particulate matter sensors. If the limit is exceeded, the air conditioning system switches to recirculation mode. A two-stage filter concept also removes fine dust and most pollutants from the air. The new GLC is optionally available with a new panoramic sunroof. The cladding cross-member is slimmer than its predecessor, providing a nearly unobstructed view from the larger glass roof area. If desired, the panoramic sunroof can be covered with roller blinds.

Greatly upgraded standard equipment
Based on Mercedes-Benz' luxury strategy, the standard equipment of the new GLC has been significantly upgraded, offering customers a very attractive vehicle from the outset. The AVANTGARDE line, for example, is standard, as are popular features like large displays, smartphone integration, and wireless charging. In addition, the packaging logic has been greatly simplified to reduce the effort of choosing among many individual options. Functional features that are often ordered together are now bundled into equipment packages based on actual buyer behavior. Beyond that, there are very few feature options available. Design options such as paint, interior, decorative strips and wheels allow customers to configure their vehicles individually as before.

Engine: four-cylinder unit always electrified

The new GLC is only available as a mild hybrid with 48-volt technology and an integrated starter generator (ISG). ISG already guarantees excellent performance development. This system includes a 48-volt electrical system that allows functions such as coasting, boost or regen, saving significant fuel. In addition, the engine starts so quickly and conveniently with the help of the ISG that the driver is almost conscious of the start-stop function, similar to the transition from "sailing" with the engine stopped to powerful propulsion with engine power. I don't. At idle, the intelligent interaction of the ISG and the combustion engine ensures excellent smoothness.

Suspension: Agility and security
The key components of the GLC's dynamically designed suspension system are a new four-link axle at the front and a subframe-mounted multi-link independent wheel suspension at the rear. The standard chassis ensures advanced suspension, driving and noise comfort, agile handling and driving pleasure. It is equipped with an amplitude dependent damping system. The GLC is equipped with a sports suspension in conjunction with the AMG line of exteriors.

The technology package with AIRMATIC air suspension (optional) includes level control and rear axle steering. Modern assistance systems:
driver support

The latest generation of the Driving Assistance Package Plus includes additional and further improved functions. These free the driver in everyday situations for more comfort and safer driving. If danger is imminent, the assistance system can respond to imminent collisions accordingly. Several advanced features make driving even safer. Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC can now react to vehicles stationary on the road at speeds of up to 100 km/h (previously he was 60 km/h). One of the new features of Active Steering Assist is lane detection with an additional 360-degree camera. When forming a hard shoulder.

Sophisticated parking system: Assist for throwing
Thanks to stronger environmental sensors, the parking system better supports the driver during maneuvers, improving safety and comfort. Integration into MBUX makes operation more intuitive and supported by a visual display.

The emergency braking function also serves to protect other road users and can increase traffic safety. A new parking package with 360-degree camera and active parking assistance by PARKTRONIC is available as special equipment. It offers the best all-around view possible and features like assisted parking and exits make the parking process easier. The central display provides a clear view of the vehicle's surroundings when parked or maneuvered. The display consists of four separate camera images from the front, rear and sides of the vehicle and includes a virtual bird's eye view. Additionally, the display offers different viewing angles, including front, rear and trailer modes. The driver at the wheel decides whether to park manually or to pass control to Active Park His Assist.

Digital light: Excellent visibility without affecting other road users
The new GLC comes standard with LED high-performance headlights. A digital light is also available as an option. With its dynamics and precision, this revolutionary headlight technology creates nearly limitless possibilities for high-resolution, targeted light distribution, depending on local conditions. The result is excellent visibility for drivers without compromising visibility for other road users.

Over Hills and Valleys: Offroad with GLC
As before, the new GLC is also specifically designed for off-road use and is prepared for this use with many innovations and systems. Off-road driving mode and DSR (downhill speed regulation) are standard equipment. In off-road mode, the GLC offers a "glass hood" with a 360-degree camera.
The central display shows a virtual view below the front of the vehicle, including the front wheels and their steering position. This is very helpful:
This allows drivers to detect obstacles such as large rocks and deep potholes in the road at an early stage.

The new off-road screen uses two displays to clearly show information, controls and functions. The driver's display shows, among other things, incline, grade, terrain altitude, geographic coordinates, compass, speed and engine speed if driving with an internal combustion engine. In addition, the central display shows the current position of his SUV off-road, the steering angle of the front wheels, the steering direction of the rear wheels, if rear-wheel steering is possible, etc. All driving functions relevant for off-road use are easily controlled from one screen.

The TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE (OPTIONAL) WITH AIRMATIC AIR SUSPENSION DEMONSTRATES ADVANTAGES IN OFF-ROAD COMFORT AND PROVIDES ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES OFF-ROAD. For example, AIRMATIC allows high ground clearance off-road regardless of load and long spring deflection for the best possible traction. The rear-axle steering increases off-road manoeuvrability even further, while the 4MATIC all-wheel drive provides outstanding traction on any surface
