Toyota Land Cruiser 300 imminent

Toyota Land Cruiser 300
The long-awaited Toyota Land Cruiser 300

The long-awaited Land Cruiser 300 will make its local debut in August. After months of speculation, concept renderings, and spy photos, the first production models are ready to ship to eager buyers.

New design

In terms of design, the '300' has a completely different shape than its predecessor, the '200'. Although the design is obviously angular and angular when executed, it creates a cohesive shape that provides a greater sense of dynamic existence and agility. From an appearance point of view, this new product maintains the classic double frame look similar to the beloved 80 series in the 90s.

The front façade adopts a large and protruding radiator grille, and the rectangular headlights carved on both sides are seamlessly integrated with the grille. The U-shaped radiator opening supports a sturdy design, and the hood has the iconic Land Cruiser "passage" in the centre. The tail adopts a large trapezoidal taillight with a stylized light guide, supplemented by a large Land Cruiser and Toyota Insignia.

New Platform

The Land Cruiser 300 is the flagship of Toyota's SUV series and has an enviable reputation as an "African Master". The "300" model adopts the brand-new TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform, named TNGAF, and adopts a "basic" design. F stands for TNGA's first ladder rack run, this fact should be favoured by off-road enthusiasts.

Engines

A new range of engines is powering the newcomers; Buyers can choose a 3.5-litre V6 Biturbo petrol engine or a 3.3-litre turbocharged V6 diesel engine. Compared to upcoming V8 variants, both engines are focused on providing higher efficiency, better torque output, and greater refinement. The petrol V6 provides 305 kW at 5200 rpm, which can deliver a powerful 650 Nm at 2000 rpm, while the new diesel engine can provide 225 kW at 4000 rpm, providing 700 Nm of "stump" between 1600 and 2600 rpm. The top speed of both variants is set at 210 km/h. The new engine is used in conjunction with a new 10-speed automatic transmission with low-gear functions. The fuel consumption data is listed at 12.1 litres/100 kilometres for the petrol engines, diesel fuel is 8.9 litres / 100 kilometres.

Thus, GRS has a custom look and feel, strong and durable 18-inch alloy wheels, and adopts a list of specs that are biased towards the off-road and will not be stingy with any comfort or convenience. This model joins other Gazoo Racing (GR) products, expanding the GR brand to land cruisers for the first time. The ZX model presents a more "image-centric" image, with exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels, chrome details and luxurious interiors. Therefore, the Land Cruiser 300 series offers three different characteristic profiles to choose from. Luxury and sporty.
