Expanded Digital Cockpit, Enhanced Infotainment, and Improved Luggage Space:
The highly anticipated third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan is now available for purchase in South Africa, bringing a host of new features, a sophisticated design, and advanced technology to elevate the SUV experience. The new Tiguan builds on the global success of its predecessors, with over 7.4 million units sold worldwide since its debut in 2007 and more than 41,000 units sold in South Africa since 2009.

Bold Design with Aerodynamic Enhancements:
The all-new Tiguan introduces a bold, modern design while retaining the unmistakable Volkswagen aesthetic. The SUV features a more prominent front end with integrated LED headlights and a distinctive glass-covered horizontal LED strip, which replaces the traditional radiator grille. These design choices not only provide a fresh look but also contribute to improved aerodynamics, reducing the drag coefficient from 0.33 to 0.28.

The vehicle’s side profile is marked by athletic shoulder lines above the wheel housings, accommodating up to 20-inch wheels, while the rear is highlighted by a horizontal LED strip connecting the taillights. Available in three new colors—Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, and Oyster Silver Metallic—the Tiguan stands out with its refreshed exterior.

Innovative Cockpit and Infotainment System:
The Tiguan’s interior has been completely reimagined with high-quality materials and an intuitive design that integrates the latest in infotainment technology. Central to this is the updated Digital Cockpit, which includes a 12.9-inch infotainment screen (with an optional 15-inch display) featuring an entirely new menu structure and graphics. Additional options include a new head-up display and a multifunction gear shift with an integrated OLED display, all designed to enhance user experience and convenience.

The new Tiguan also offers optional ergoActive Plus leather seats, complete with four-way pneumatic lumbar adjustment and a 10-chamber pressure massage function. These seats are standard on the R-Line variant but optional on the Life variant, underscoring the vehicle's premium character.

Cutting-Edge Lighting and Increased Cargo Capacity:
For the first time, the Tiguan is available with Volkswagen’s IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights, derived from the Touareg. This state-of-the-art system, featuring 38,400 multi-pixel LEDs, provides superior illumination and safety.

Despite a modest increase in length of just three centimeters, the Tiguan boasts an expanded luggage capacity of 652 liters—37 liters more than its predecessor. The additional space demonstrates Volkswagen's commitment to enhancing practicality without compromising the SUV's compact footprint.

Comprehensive Driver Assistance Features:
The new Tiguan comes equipped with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including Park Assist Plus, which automates parking maneuvers, and a range of other technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Hill Start Assist, Park Distance Control, Lane Assist, Side Assist, and a rear-view camera system. These features enhance safety and convenience, offering a more relaxed driving experience.

Next-Generation Infotainment and Digital Cockpit Details:
The latest Tiguan is powered by Volkswagen's fourth-generation modular infotainment matrix (MIB4). This system features a redesigned graphic interface with customizable touch bars and a large home screen that combines the most important apps into easy-to-navigate tiles. The system also includes new backlit touch sliders for adjusting temperature and volume, and a digital cockpit that offers multiple display views—Classic, Progressive, Navigation, and R-Line.

The new Tiguan is available in several configurations:

- Tiguan Life: Comes with 17-inch Bari alloy wheels, Eco LED Headlights, a 10-color Ambient Lighting Dashboard, a 12.9-inch Composition Media Touchscreen Radio, and Park Assist Plus.

- Tiguan R-Line: Features LED Plus Headlights, Sport Varrena leather seats with R-Line logos, 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels, and 30-color ambient lighting. The R-Line also includes an optional Black Style Package, offering black accents and privacy glass for a more personalized appearance.

Performance and Powertrains:
The new Tiguan launches with a 1.4 TSI 110kW engine paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission, delivering 250 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds with a top speed of 207 km/h. Additional engine options, including the 2.0 TDI 110kW DSG and 2.0 TSI 140kW DSG, will become available in late 2024 and early 2025.

With its compelling combination of style, technology, and performance, the new Volkswagen Tiguan promises to redefine what drivers can expect from a compact SUV.
