Audi e-tron range heading to South Africa

The Audi Electric Range
The Audi e-tron range coming to our beloved Mzansi.

For more than 100 years, Audi's history has been marked by prestige, automotive ambitions and technical excellence. From the introduction of the Quattro all-wheel drive, which pushed Audi to take the lead in rally racing, to the use of TDI technology to win many times at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Don't forget the groundbreaking aluminium space frame technology and many other lighting innovations over the years. The Four Rings proudly promotes advanced mobility for clients around the world.

Now, as we all know, the world is going electric, and globally, Audi has told us that By 2026, all-new Audi models released for the global market will be purely electrified. Sad for internal combustion engines and those who love the symphonies and soundtracks produced by the S and RS models, however not all is not lost.

In South Africa, Audi confidently advances the electrical agenda and will launch the e-tron nameplate to consumers in the first quarter of 2022. This includes six new e-tron models in three different model series.

"Globally, the automotive industry is announcing plans to phase out internal combustion engines to promote future industry transformation. As Audi South Africa, we believe that we have the ability to contribute to this global vision, and we have a responsibility to do so. We are not only aligned with the importance of sustainability, but we also have the technology, performance and design certificates in the etron series to provide our senior customers with an all-electric device that can inspire and excite," Audi Director Sascha Sauer said. South Africa..

Audi South Africa fully supports the global promotion of high-quality sustainable mobility and looks forward to promoting this issue locally to reshape South Africans’ perception of electric vehicles. As part of the local commitment, Audi South Africa will launch a full range of e-tron to the local market, including:

SUV category:

Audi e-tron 50 and e-tron 55

CUV category:
Audi e-tron Sportback 55 and e-tron Sportback S

In the high-performance category:
Audi e-tron GT and Audi RS e-tron GT

The introduction of these electric models in South Africa should be an exciting time for both the brand and consumers. Pricing will be announced close to the local launch on Q1 2022.
