Fiat South Africa has launched the loved Fiat 500 range and we spend the day sampling the little Italian in a sunny Johannesburg. The range comes in four derivatives which are all powered by the same engine and transmissions and we finally understand why the Fiat 500 has found homes all over the world.
The Ranges
Fiat 500 Cult - The new entry-level excitement of the Fiat 500 is reflected in the new Cult derivatives. The Fiat 500 Cult exudes a pleasant and light breath, which will refresh you every time you drive. The striking new orange Arancio Sicilia brings a new pop and freshness to the 500, although there are many other colours to choose from, with the same attitude as the 500. The Cult models use 14-inch steel wheels with black hubcaps and exterior mirrors, driving lights LED daytime running lights and halogen headlights as standard. The interior of the is highlighted by blue cloth seats with Fiat Monogram and the same coloured dashboard. A new option for Cult is the Techno Blue Matt dashboard, and the standard list of comfort features is still high. A 5-inch UconnectTM radio with DAB, USB port and manual air-conditioning is standard and also includes a speed limiter.
Fiat 500 Connect - In addition to the standard Cult specs, the Connect model also uses 15-inch alloy wheels and specific side skirts, spoilers and rear bumpers, including fog lights. The new two-tone silver treatment and glossy black roof make this model particularly eye-catching. The new height-adjustable "magnificent" seat enhances the interior space along with a multifunctional eight-button steering wheel. The dashboard can be ordered in matt silver. Cooler than ever, other interior upgrades include cruise control, a seven-inch Uconnect infotainment system with CarPlay and AndroidAuto, and two additional rear speakers.
Fiat 500 Dolcevita - For the more avant-garde, Dolcevita models epitomise Italian style and flair with bespoke badging and chrome accents on the two-tone paintwork. With bespoke 16-inch alloy wheels, the Dolcevita also gets the Techno-leather multi-function steering wheel, glass roof, Matelassé fabric seats with techno leather details, and a 50/50 split rear seat.
Fiat 500 Sport - With its elegant and clear appearance, Fiat 500 Sport will conquer you at first sight, bringing a touch of boldness to your daily life. These sporty customers will be attracted by sports upgrades, which include 16-inch alloy wheels, sports badges and specific side skirts, bumpers and rear spoilers. The new cloud grey contrasts with the new "Arrow Electric" seats and the titanium instrument panel with the red 500 logo. Seven-inch TFT digital cluster accompanied by automatic air conditioning.

Enjoy your HD display with "tablet effect" UconnectTM 7 inch HD touch screen and hands-free system, various features including Bluetooth technology and voice recognition. The system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android AutoTM has a user-friendly interface that allows you to easily manage maps, music, contacts and more. It is within reach of all safety while driving. In addition to steering wheel controls and hands-free Bluetooth functionality, the UconnectTM 5 inch radio adds a large touch screen with DAB+ (digital audio broadcasting) digital radio tuner. The UconnectTM7 inch system with DAB+ has a large display with 'smart gestures' that can be literally controlled at your fingertips. Optionally, it can be equipped with HD navigation including TomTom Navigator with a 3D map.

ABS is standard throughout the family as well as Electronic Stability Control. For added convenience, the hill holder makes you look like an uphill expert and relieves traffic stress only once.
