Updated BMW 8 Series

By Aphiwe Nzimande

The updated version of the BMW 8 series and its Flagship M8 competition have been revealed and will go on sale soon. This is what has changed from the older version to the latest.

You still have the option of getting your 8 series either as a convertible, a two-door coupè or as a four-door Gran coupè body type. The car is heavily unchanged but if you put on your searching goggles only then can discover the mild changes.

Upfront the 8 series thankfully avoids those huge signature kidney grilles found in its BMW M4 and M3 siblings but the grille, however, does gain illumination within its vents which are now vertically placed, a feature borrowed from the X6.

At the back, the car remains unchanged with M8 competition models still retaining their large oval quad carbon covered exhausts that bring about chilling acoustics when running. The standard 8 series gets more subtle styling, as usual, nothing too hectic.

All models will come standard with M sports styling giving you a wide array of new colours and Alloy wheels to suit your every liking.

Inside it's safe to say that BMW has best left the space largely unchanged as it still retains its nice build quality and plush leathers smothered around the cabin.

The infotainment screen grows a bit bigger and a new 12.3 inches digital drivers display is afforded. The Harmon/Kardon sound system has also been upgraded for your listening pleasures.

The engines on offer are set to stay the same with the news of 840d being dropped from the lineup.
