Driven | Ford Everest Limited

While we have spent a lot of time sampling the entire Everest range (the Sport and the XLT), the Limited has always been a tough one to get our hands on. We spent time sampling the Everest Limited. It makes use of the 2.0-litre Biturbo-diesel powertrain that is paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission which we have sampled in many Ford products including our long-term Ford Ranger Stormtrak. In terms of power, you still get the 157kW/500nm of torque that you also get in other high-end Ranger products.

One of the reasons we love the Ford Everest so much is because it hides its utilitarian roots so much. It offers a pleasant, refined driving experience.

While most of the functions that are available on the XLT grade are also on here, the Limited then receives luxury-car features atop the XLT specifications such as xenon headlamps with automatic high-beam control, 20-inch alloy wheels, powered and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, adjustable ambient lighting, and an electrically controlled tailgate and third row of seats.

In terms of safety, the Everest Limited has a full range of active and passive safety systems, including forward-collision alert and auto braking, lane assist, blind-spot monitoring and parking assist.
